Who will you be working with?

Provide exceptional Service to support all warranty programs and non-warranty requirements in accordance with the contractual obligations between Wabtec and our Customer. The Position will interface with the customer and Internal staff on a daily basis

How will you make a difference?

This position is located in Bronx, NY, United States. This Position will be to support Warranty and Service of Wabtec Locomotives for the New York City Transit Authority.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Associate’s degree in electronics technology or equivalent job experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field preferred.

  • Minimum three (3) years of related Locomotive/Heavy Equipment experience including customer interaction roles.

  • Must have hands on mechanical/electrical experience with analysis and repair of heavy machinery.

  • Rail industry knowledge and experience.

  • Knowledge of electronics helpful.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Excellent communication skills required

What will your typical day look like?

Provide exceptional Service to support all warranty programs and non-warranty requirements in accordance with the contractual obligations between Wabtec and our Customer. The Position will interface with the customer and Internal staff on a daily basis.

Specific Responsibilities/requirements:

  • Provide Customer Service site support with resolving technical issues and product questions.

  • Provide problem diagnosis, technical assistance and solutions for field service problems within the scope of the contract.

  • Perform and track field modifications as instructed by site leader and engineering.

  • Follow daily work instructions as supplied by site leader, Be a self-starter with strong emphasis on following instructions from multiple sources. Evaluate, understand and execute on complex problems with minimal remote guidance as deemed necessary.

  • Strong emphasis on safety culture, adhering to customer and company safety polices. 100% compliance on punctuality and on call as required.

  • Accurately document and maintain warranty support cases in internal systems.

  • Professionally respond to customer inquiries on technical issues or warranty claims.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What about the physical demands of the job?

5 days a week, min 8 hours a day, work day which may consists of Irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Working in field office at customer site including working inside and outside customers repair facilities. Lifting to 50 pounds, frequent stooping, lifting, kneeling, bending, crouching and climbing. Working at Heights with fall restraint systems. Use of hand and power tools including occasional welding if necessary. Use of computer terminal and testing equipment. Visual requirements to retrieve and manipulate information.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
