Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Jeffersonville, Indiana

Description We are seeking a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our team in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In this role, you will be instrumental in processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining precise payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and best practices. You will also liaise with the HR department to resolve any payroll discrepancies and assist in maintaining time off balances.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for a significant number of employees, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

• Compile and process payroll data related to earnings, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.

• Verify the accuracy of time-entry and pay implications, identifying and rectifying any errors that may affect payroll processing.

• Maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Work closely with the HR Manager to ensure accurate information is updated and maintained for payroll.

• Assist in the maintenance of time off balances to ensure accurate record-keeping.

• Verify employee records and liaise with respective departments in the event of a discrepancy.

• Provide excellent customer service, resolving any payroll queries from employees.

• Process employee changes, terminations, and bonuses in a timely and accurate manner.

• Create reports and spreadsheets as required, providing valuable data for company use.

• Assist the HR Manager as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the management. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in managing payroll for 101 - 500 employees.

• Demonstrated skills in executing employee changes in the payroll system.

• Expertise in Human Resources (HR) Administration.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite.

• Strong numerical aptitude and data entry skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with payroll regulations and requirements.
