Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Nurse Unit Manager at St. Mary's d'Youville Pavilion is responsible for managing the administration and clinical operations of a patient/resident care unit. They will be responsible for the supervision of all unit staff, including: nurses, nursing assistants, support staff and unit secretaries. They will plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and control all human and material resources of the unit. He/She will be required to be able to provide direct patient care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred

  • Valid State of Maine RN license required

  • BLS certification required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required

  • Previous management experience

  • Acute, Long Term Care or Skilled care experience preferred

  • MDS and Care Planning knowledge preferred

Other Skills Required

  • Demonstrated leadership skills required

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required

  • Knowledge of special development and physical needs of adults and geriatric patients/residents

  • The ability to promote teamwork throughout the unit.

  • Organized and detail oriented
