Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Voice & Data Interconnect within the Network Engineering Department is responsible for the management of services provided by existing voice and messaging partners, identifying and implementing new interconnection partnerships, creating business cases to expand or augment existing voice and messaging services, implementing new and improving on existing operational processes, acts as the last level of support in the event of outage relating to voice and messaging partners, and improving overall customer experience. The Interconnect team is made up of a voice team and an interconnect engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate with commercial business teams to integrate new interconnection partners and update technical changes into the core network

  • Work with a range of transport, network engineering, and core engineering teams to support the implementation of transport, routing, and voice or messaging services

  • Interface with executive leadership across various organizations as part of the process of managing all facets of large, complex infrastructure deployments

  • Manage the development and execution of tests to assure proper operation for new voice or messaging partners

  • Manage the operability of inter-carrier messaging (SMS/MMS) and its consistency with 3GPP and other industry requirements.

  • Responsible for the investigation and resolution of billing disputes with carriers ensuring DISH pays only what we are obligated to pay.

  • Manage data traffic flows and recommend network changes as traffic profiles change

Skills, Experience and Requirements

As a successful Senior Manager, you will have:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Graduate degree in IT, engineering, or technical field, or 10+ years in these disciplines with 5+ years leading engineering teams and designing voice networks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive operational experience in a mobility environment, preferably with a major Mobile Network Operator (MNO), and knowledge of interconnection principles and technology.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project, with executive-level troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Decision-making skills utilizing available data, preparing for future impacts, and leading broad programs in support of organizational strategies.

  • Familiarity with nationwide telecommunications providers (ILECs & CLECs) and their services, with superior organizational and planning skills for team workload management and meeting focus.

  • Proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to learn and apply new technology independently.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $208,725.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
