Weston County Health Services Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Acute Care in Newcastle, Wyoming
As the Certified Nursing Assistant, this position is responsible for providing outstanding resident care and physical and emotional support for residents on a daily basis.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS)
- Answerresident calls promptly and determines the best course of action to support them
- Providephysical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising
- Turnand repositionbedridden residents as required
- Ensureresidents receive appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences
- Obtaina wide range of information regarding resident condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities as needed
- Measureand recordfood and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff
- Recordvital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested
- Examineresidents to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
- Remindresidents to take medication and nutritional supplements as required
- Noteobservations of resident behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses
- Coordinatewith medical staff and other departments to ensure efficiency
- Assistvisitors with directions whenever requested
- Reportsafety hazards as appropriate
- Replenishsupplies as needed
- Followall infection control practices including handwashing techniques, Standard Precautions and Isolation Precautions
