Job Description

The L3 Activation Director is responsible for the acceleration and implementation of L3 initiatives throughout the US market and expanding the partnership between the Brand Teams and Marketing Operations. Working with cross-functional leaders, this role defines the current and future state needs of brands to expand the relationship between Marketing Operations and Brand Strategy, demonstrating the pull through from L3 Brand Plans to positively impact for our customers and consumers at a faster pace. This role ensures the L3 Activation team effectively drives the translation of marketing campaigns from Brand Teams into tactical execution plans and spearheads future capability development for Marketing Operations. It is critical that this role can expertly manage multiple teams in order to collaborate with Marketing Brand Leadership and Marketing Operations Leadership. This role drives collaboration across different verticals to execute new engagement experience and drive outcomes for brands. The role will collaborate closely with the global L3 team to provide feedback and collaborate on L3 framework optimization and serve as a core US market representative in rolling out future capabilities and features of the L3 framework. This role must have a comprehensive understanding of diverse areas and how they interconnect, including brand marketing campaign planning, the omnichannel landscape, and paid and owned media. Furthermore, this role must have adept communication skills to effectively articulate insights and requirements about these subject areas with various teams to ensure clarity and alignment with objectives.

  • Shape the engagement strategy and enact L3 methodologies via translation of brand strategy across BUs and across brands/indications into an activation framework.

  • Create the BU-specific strategic direction for a team of Associate Directors and ensure alignment and coherence in strategy and execution; incorporate insights from these ADs to drive continuous improvement.

  • Actively develop the associate director-level team members, focusing on ways to leverage and strengthen employees’ skills, deepen subject matter knowledge, and create new growth opportunities.

  • Consolidate the comprehensive needs of our Company's Experience to active brands desired “Learn” strategy to accelerate OME objectives.

  • Exercise direct and indirect influence over the OME budget by prioritizing tasks needed for L3 framework enablement.

  • Share strategic guidance to Business Unit leadership, highlighting potential opportunities for teams and functions to drive impactful outcomes for brands at speed.

  • Create a "seat at the table" and actively participate as a trusted advisor in the decision making of brand leadership.

  • Steer the optimization and innovation strategy across verticals, partnering with internal customers to jointly shape and prioritize the agenda, by analyzing insights from the L3 Activation team.

  • Align initiatives to the right brand strategy needs, increasing efficiency, customer and consumer impact, throughput, and speed to market.

  • Guide the identification of and understand common themes and strategies across Brands/BUs, leading the strategy for fostering new capabilities and processes.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to elevate marketing outcomes within each BU, leveraging insights into their unique priorities and requirements.

  • Articulate how the work implemented ties to business priorities, pinpoint unaddressed needs and gaps, and devise actionable plans to bridge these gaps to fortify brand and commercial strategy.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of each BU’s distinct strategy, priorities, and needs to activate the L3 brand plans and create the roadmap for implementing these new capabilities.

  • Drive the collaboration and pull-through of the new capability roadmap with other peer organizations.

  • Propel the global strategy on digital tools to optimize the processes of translating brand marketing campaigns.

  • Strategically engage and build relationships with internal customers and partners, e.g., Brand Leadership, Medical, HHDDA, and Global teams.

  • Guide the development of strategies aimed at enhancing campaign execution, with a focus on leveraging technologies to their fullest potential.

  • Provide feedback to Global L3 Next team to facilitate improvements to the L3 framework, ensuring its alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices and drive the rollout of future capabilities and features of the L3 framework to the US market.

  • Partner with Global L3 Next team and HHI Marketing Excellence lead to collaborate on focus areas across markets and pull best practices from BU and market execution through to other areas.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Marketing or Masters in related science preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Marketing strategy, brand strategy planning, digital process mapping or launch strategy design.

  • Experience working on and leading agile teams

  • Demonstrates customer-centric, growth mindset and mental agility to meet business needs

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively, challenge the status quo, and drive change

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize initiatives, work and mobilize resources to drive release plans

  • Demonstrated ability to drive business process improvement and measurement of results (metrics and KPIs)

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate and adjust communications to the audience

  • Demonstrated stakeholder management; ability to gain leadership sponsorship

  • Strong team leadership skills - ability to help teams understand the big picture, their role, and expectations to work together to achieve objectives

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to translate business needs to omnichannel capabilities.

  • 5+ years management experience of influencing stakeholders in matrixed environment

  • Change management skills – ability to gain sponsorship for change and work as a change agent to effectively drive change

  • Strong understanding or aptitude to learn business processes, practices and regulations pertaining to the pharma industry in the US Market
