Job Description

The Cook will prepare and cook food and performs other related culinary functions. They should possess strong culinary skills and have “intermediate level proficiency” in Culinary functions. Cook 2’s shall be able to accomplish most of their tasks with “minimal” supervision and some guidance, depending on complexity and skill level required and have a solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. They shall have the ability to correctly utilize and prepare food with most all of the products and ingredients being developed or currently in use for the kitchen. This person should be able to perform multiple stations as needed including opening and closing procedures with some supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full knowledge of menu and recipes.

  • Complete daily job tasks including preparation of menu items without constant supervision.

  • Maintain daily preparation par lists.

  • Maintain daily product freshness on hot line and pantry station.

  • Communicate to Supervisors and Sous Chefs the needs and requirements of the kitchen.

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations.

  • Attend all departmental and safety trainings.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • To be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.

  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid Riverside County Food Handlers Card.

  • Must be available weekends and holidays.

    Pay: $20.00/hour. The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.
