Summary:

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall cost accounting duties for their specific location including monthly financial close and associated reporting, staff & production meetings, weekly estimates, and other general cost accounting duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as required.

  • Perform the monthly financial close and associated reporting. Provide analytical insight to operations and management.

  • Participate in staff/production meetings as required.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly estimates of MUV and OH variances for Assistant Controller and Plant Manager - metrics format, review both with plants.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the Assistant Controller in consistency objectives across plant locations.

  • Document and implement accounting policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Overall support of the Assistant Controller.

  • Ensure cycle counts are participated in by the Plant Accountant. If a plant with no Plant Accountant you should participate in one FG and one RM cycle count per quarter.

  • Lead and develop plant accounting personnel. Actively participate in succession planning and backup.

  • Engage plant operations to identify areas for cost improvement. Work with the plant to solve issues. Communicate these areas to the Assistant Controller.

  • Assist in the planning process receiving guidance from the Assistant Controller.

  • Assist and implement policies and procedures as prescribed through Operations Accounting.

  • Ensure optimal use of payroll, accounts payable systems, production, pcard systems, and receipt entry.

  • Audit controls as prescribed by the Assistant Controller - fixed asset counts, property tax returns, COI’s. etc.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP;

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing/cost accounting experience in a management role; and

  • Designation of CPA, CMA preferred

Annual Salary Range: 121,500-155,250
