    Position Summary:

    The Director of Nursing Services for BroMenn Medical Center leads patient care in the Medical Oncology Specialty Unit, Pediatrics/Infusion Center, the Nursing Office, Clinical Resource Unit, and Inpatient Wound Ostomy. In addition the role is responsible for the Magnet Coordinator and Magnet program for the Central Region of Carle Health. The role serves as the Nursing Practice resource and drives the professional development of nursing staff with the site educators, the promotion and advancement of patient care excellence throughout the facility and the assists to sustain a strong professional governance structure. The Director of Nursing Services is accountable to ensure the implementation and sustainability of the Magnet standards. Accountable for the collection, preparation and submission of required data to maintain Magnet and Pathway designations. Responsibilities include staffing, leadership development, succession planning, clinical practice, strategic growth, budgeting, quality, and regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and

  • National Nursing Certification within 1 year.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Five (5) years of nursing leadership experience.

  • Proven record of employee engagement, effective leadership, and creative approaches to challenges and barriers in change management, conflict management and patient care.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Prefer experience with Magnet processes / standards.

  • Must have demonstrated experience with nurse sensitive indicators, quality improvement and clinical leadership.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

    Essential Functions:

  • Rsponsible for day to day operations and strategic planning for areas of responsibility.

  • Leads operational areas to excellent patient experience, quality outcomes and strong staff engagement.

  • Collaborates with nursing leaders to advance nursing practice and ensure high quality, safe patient care.

  • Contributes to organization wide initiatives to improve patient care and efficiency.

  • Provides developmental opportunities for department leaders, providing mentorship and plans for succession.

  • Creates the infrastructure and processes necessary for achieving and maintaining Magnet designation.

  • Develops strong collaborative relationships with peers, providers, customers and stakeholders.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and aligning with budget and budgetary initiatives.

  • Oversees preparations for ANCC document submission and site survey.

  • Ensures organization is informed and knowledgeable about Magnet Recognition Program.

  • Serves as the site resource for Nursing Practice questions and issues.

  • Oversees nursing policies as appropriate.
