Tri-County Health Care Director of Nursing Services in Wadena, Minnesota

The Director of Nursing Services works in close alignment with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure patient safety, quality of care and exceptional customer service across the continuum of care. This role plays as a key partner with the Chief Nursing Officer on strategic planning, innovation, and to identify and respond to the needs of our communities and the patients being served. This position will have direct oversight over multiple departments and hospital services as well as project management and operational support for the nursing division.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Works with the clinical staff, including physicians, to standardize work process’ to ensure best practice/evidenced based care and eliminate variations in care delivery.

  • Responsible for Safety, Quality of Care, Service, Operational and Financial Performance of assigned areas.

  • Serves as a liaison for other departments in the nursing division. Providing project management, operational support and serves as a communication vehicle and representative between Sr. Leadership and the nursing division.

  • Development of relationships between departments, administration, physicians, supervisors and direct staff to ensure collaboration and opportunities for shared services.

  • Assists with implementation of strategic initiatives and performance improvement activities.

  • Identifies opportunities for growth and development in our programs and services.

  • Provides leadership and direction to ensure the development of services in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Ensures that clinical support functions are coordinated across staff, functions and activities in order to improve patient and clinical outcomes.

  • Provides oversight and ensures ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory programs including but not limited to, CMS, Joint Commission and department specific regulatory standards and requirements.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing degree with a master's in nursing, or a related field, or the ability to obtain a master's degree.

  • Three (3) plus years of progressive leadership experience in similar role and proven experience in service line and program development; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
